A couple of weeks ago we had to read an article and write a summary about what we read heres mine. 

 

Anzac Mapping

Heres a map that i did this week we had to go onto google maps and find were these places were on maps heres were i put the places 

Pompeii Discovery

 Today we read a article about a chariot from Pompeii that was 2000 years old and got covered in ash from the volcano in Pompeii. We got in groups and decided if the chariot should be relocated or left in Pompeii. Bessie and Emily and I thought that the chariot should stay in Pompeii because it was found in Pompeii and it would show more history and it could be damaged if it got relocated. 

Current Events: Chemical Spill

About 100 eels have been found dead after a chemical compound spilled into a stormwater drain and then into the Manukau Harbour.People were being warned not to go in the water within 5km of the spill  which covered the South Auckland regions of Mangere Bridge, Taumanu East, Taumanu Central, Taumanu West and Onehunga Lagoon.  Auckland Council said 5000 litres of methyl methacrylate was released from storage. Specialists investigated the impact the chemical may have had on marine life and vegetation. They also tested the harbour water. 

 

Catapults

Today Miss Foster taught us how to make catapults out of 5 Marshmallows, 7 skewers, an elastic band and long piece of sellotape. we used 3 skewers for the base of the catapult we stuck these together with marsh mellows we then added three more for the roof of the catapult to hold it all together we put a marsh mellow on top. We then had to get our spoon and put a skewer inside and seller tape it then we put it trough the rubber band and put a marsh mellow on the tip of the spoon and pulled the spoon back and fired the marsh mellow. We had to go in pairs i went with Emily and here is a photo of me and Emily and Bessie and indie in the background this was a really fun activity and we got to eat the marshmallows at the end.
